Some larger private hospitals have emergency departments.
When deciding whether to go to a public or private emergency department, consider:
- Public hospitals usually have larger emergency departments to deal with more serious accidents and emergencies.
- Private hospital emergency departments may be quieter and you may not have to wait as long as in a public hospital.
- You have to pay to attend a private hospital emergency department and, even if you have Hospital Cover, you may face out-of-pocket costs.
