Background 

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia established CBHS Health in 1951, then known as The Commonwealth Bank Health Society. It was set up to ensure staff had access to affordable health insurance.

Who can join CBHS Health?

You can join CBHS Health only if you are:

  • a current or former employee of the Commonwealth Bank Group (CBA Group)
  • an immediate family member
  • a contractor or franchisee. 

However, if you are not on this list, you can join CBHS Corporate Health. This is CBHS Health’s sister fund and an open for-profit insurer.
