How do ambulances services work in QLD?

If you live in QLD, you do not have to pay for being treated by paramedics and/or transported by ambulance.

The Queensland Government covers all ambulance costs for Queensland residents. This cover extends to Queenslanders who need ambulance services when they visit the other states and territories.

If you are a visitor to Queensland, you are not eligible for free ambulance services. You can find the current fees and charges for ambulance services for visitors on Queensland Ambulance’s website. 

Should I take out Ambulance Cover if I live in QLD?

No. You do not need to take out Ambulance Cover if you live in QLD because the Queensland Government covers the cost of ambulance services in any Australian state or territory.
