It is easy to cancel your Private Health Insurance.

You can cancel at any time and your health insurer is obliged to refund any contributions you have made in advance.

Usually, you do not need to contact your insurer to cancel your policy – your new insurer will take care of the cancellation process for you. However if your new insurer does not manage your policy transfer for you, these are the steps to follow.

Cancelling your Private Health Insurance

There are 2 steps to cancel your health insurance.

Step 1:

Call your insurer to say you want to cancel your health insurance.

Check whether there is a fee or administration charge if you cancel.

Step 2:

Depending on your insurer, you have to fill in an online form or log into an online portal.

Some insurers let you cancel over the phone.
